Forward Deployed Engineer | AI Startup | Python, TypeScript & React | £100k-£160k + Equity | London

An exceptionally fast-growing AI startup is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join its engineering team in London.

The company is building the software layer for an enormous but largely overlooked industry that still relies heavily on Word documents, PDFs, spreadsheets and email to run complex operational processes. Its AI-powered platform turns these fragmented processes into intelligent workflows spanning scheduling, technical review, field operations and document intelligence.

This isn’t a traditional implementation or solutions engineering position. You’ll embed directly with customers to understand how their businesses actually operate, run discovery calls, write specifications and then personally build the software. You’ll work end-to-end across TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, SQL, APIs, cloud infrastructure and LLM-powered workflows.

We’re looking for:

* 3-6 years of software or product engineering experience
* Degree in Computer Science or a related technical subject from a top university
* Strong full-stack engineering experience across Python and TypeScript
* React and modern frontend development
* Backend development, APIs, SQL and data modelling
* Hands-on AI/LLM experience
* Evidence of personally shipping real products into production
* Strong product judgement and 0-to-1 problem solving
* Excellent communication and customer-facing ability
* Startup, founding engineer, FDE or ex-founder experience highly desirable
* Background within a highly regarded technology company or startup beneficial

This is a small, highly technical team where engineers are given genuine ownership from day one. You’ll work directly alongside the founders, ship into production immediately and see customers using what you’ve built. You’re not simply responsible for delivering what a customer asks for; you’re expected to determine what should actually be built and which customer problems can become scalable product capabilities.

The company has raised a $4.5M seed round backed by well-known technology investors. In roughly a year, it has gone from one customer to deployments within six of the ten largest enterprises in its industry.

£100k-£160k + meaningful equity, depending on experience.
