Full-stack Product Engineer | AI Startup | £90k-£135k | London | 3-4 days p/w onsite

An ambitious early-stage AI software company is looking for an exceptional Full-stack Product Engineer to take ownership of a new customer-facing product. This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys working in small, technically ambitious teams and wants genuine responsibility for what gets built, how it looks and how customers experience it.

Rather than joining a large engineering department with separate product, design and development teams, you’ll have the autonomy to shape features from concept through to production. You’ll work across the frontend, backend and data layer, creating sophisticated interfaces for AI-powered functionality while continually improving performance, usability and customer experience.

The successful engineer will combine excellent TypeScript and React development skills with strong product intuition and an eye for design. You’ll be comfortable building APIs and backend services using Python or Node.js, working with relational databases and making sensible architectural decisions. Just as importantly, you’ll understand what makes a product intuitive, polished and commercially successful.

They’re looking for:

• At least four years’ professional software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript and React, alongside backend experience with Python or Node.js.
• Experience taking a customer-facing product from initial concept to real users.
• Proven ownership of substantial projects, including technical and product decisions.
• Strong UI/UX judgement and the ability to create polished production interfaces.
• Experience with authentication, onboarding, billing or other self-service product functionality.
• Familiarity with product analytics, experimentation and user feedback.
• Practical enthusiasm for AI and experience incorporating AI capabilities into applications.
• A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.

You’ll have considerable influence over the product roadmap, engineering standards and user experience, working closely with experienced technical leadership.
